Introduction
While much of the world enjoys more liberty today than ever before, the governments of some countries — North Korea, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Cuba, Myanmar, Syria, and China among them — continue to imprison their own citizens who oppose them. Even among nations that have representative government, freedom is being weakened by unchecked mob rule, excessive use of police power, intrusive governmental intervention, or repression of free speech. And the liberty of all mankind is under a new threat by extremists who intend to rule individuals and societies in the name, though not the spirit, of Islam.
The future of liberty worldwide is largely in the hands of the next generation of leaders. Those are the individuals whose day-to-day decisions will be far-reaching and whose thinking and actions will set the tone for others.
Tomorrow’s leaders will need to establish liberty where it is still unknown, protect it where it now exists, and restore it where it has been lost. In order to do that, they will need to understand what liberty is and how its presence or absence affects individual lives and the community. They will also need the ability to recognize and overcome liberty’s enemies, including relativism, greed, expediency, repression, and complacency.
Our Mission
The mission of Leaders for Liberty Institute is to cultivate through education a new generation of principled leaders committed to upholding liberty for all mankind.
Accomplishing Our Mission
To accomplish our mission we establish and fund at host colleges and universities Leaders for Liberty Centers, where undergraduates can gain knowledge and skills that will encourage and help them to become "leaders for liberty".
We invite you to join with us in this world-changing endeavor.
